
Women’s Work: A Right or a Debate
On Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Family Defense Society organized a youth debate at An-Najah National University, with active participation from university students. The event was held as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign, marking the conclusion of a project implemented in partnership with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, and funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The debate addressed the issue of women’s participation in the workforce, featuring a pro and a con team, in an atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm and dynamic interaction. The session also included insightful interventions and questions from attending students.
Lawyer Areen Fran contributed a brief legal intervention, highlighting key legal aspects related to women’s right to work.
This debate reflects the Family Defense Society’s ongoing efforts to promote constructive community dialogue, empower youth, and contribute to combating all forms of violence.
